With the temperatures hovering near the zero mark for highs today across southeast Minnesota and more frigid weather in our forecast, nobody wants to spend too much time outside-- especially scraping ice off your windshield, right? Here's a handy trick that'll help keep your windshield clear.

This article from LittleThings  describes a way you can make your own windshield defrosting solution and help keep those windows clear every morning.

And all it takes is a mixture that is 1/3 part water and 2/3 parts rubbing alcohol. Mix them together in a spray bottle, spray some on your windshield when it's frosty, and, supposedly, you're good to go. (This article also has some other homemade solutions that will defrost your windows, too.)

This video shows how it works, although, it IS from a TV station in Knoxville, TN, where the weather isn't nearly as cold as it is here in Minnesota-- and they don't get nearly as much snow as we do. But seeing as isopropanol and ethylene glycol are usually the main anti-icing ingredients in the store-bought windshield washer fluid, I'm guessing these might work, too.
