I used to wear glasses. I got them when I was in 5th grade, when one of those eye tests revealed I was having a tough time reading the chalkboard. (Remember when schools actually had chalkboards?!?) I proceeded to wear them for the next 22 years, until I had Lasik eye surgery around 11 years ago. Well, I'm sad to say...the glasses are back. At least when it comes to reading.

Yes, while I can still see things at a distance just fine, I noticed awhile ago it was getting tougher and tougher to read things up close. For especially fine print-- like on one's iPhone, for instance-- I sometimes had to extend my arms waayy out and tilt my head back as far as I could to read and/or see things clearly. Just as sign of my advancing years, I was told. Like clockwork, it happens fairly soon after you hit the big 4-0 someone else said. Seeing as I'm now 44, I guess they were right.

So, over the weekend, I broke down and bought a pair of reading glasses. Cheaters. However you want to refer to them, I now have a pair.  And, they do help. I have a full eye exam scheduled next week just to make sure everything else is ok, as well. Now, though, the only problem is remembering where I put them.  I haven't quite graduated to having a pair with me in a case in my shirt pocket. But I wouldn't be surprised if that's coming next...
