The Twins have been honoring Minnesota's own Prince this season by playing his song, 'Little Red Corvette' during the 7th inning stretch. And now, the Minnesota Wild announced that they will be honoring Prince this season, too.

Yes, the Wild announced earlier this week that they're changing the song they play in the Xcel Energy Center after they score a goal to Prince's hit song, 'Let's Go Crazy.' They had been using a song by rock guitarist Joe Satriani, called 'Crowd Chant' as their goal song.

It's, of course, a cool tribute to Minnesota's own musical icon, who sadly passed away last spring. The Wild had been using it temporarily during their Stanley Cup Playoff run last season, and now they're making the switch to Prince permanent-- at least for this season, anyway.

The Wild said they surveyed their season ticket holders, who overwhelmingly voted in favor of the change. I think it's a great move, too, and will hopefully instill a sense of Minnesota pride and excitment when the boys in green put the biscuit in the basket, as they say.

Here's the official Tweet from the Wild, as they announced the news...
