The special two-day fabric sale is set for Friday and Saturday at the New Haven Township Hall, 9024 County Road 3 NW in Oronoco. It's being put on by the children of Marjorie Andrist, who passed away unexpectedly last December, and is a fundraiser for their adult autistic brother's independent living.

As the family was going through their mother's sewing room, they realized she had collected a large amount of fabric and sewing supplies. Well, 'large' probably doesn't quite cover it. In fact, the Post-Bulletin did a story on the massive amount of fabric and other suppplies involved in the sale. "'We could probably cover the Metrodome,' said Jodie Bartz, one of her five children. "We could probably replace the dorm roof with one quilted of fabric,'"  the story said.

To illustrate just how much fabric there is, this week's sale is actually the second fabric sale the family has held. "At the request of their dad, who found the heaping quantities of cloth more than he could handle, his adult children held a fabric sale in August," according to the story.

So whether you're looking for quilting fabric, flannel, jersey, polar fleece, embroidery, discs, threads, patterns, notions and more, you'll find it this Friday and Saturday at the New Haven Township Hall. The sale runs Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
