It looks like it might be the end of the road for one Rochester bar-- and that end might have come as early as Sunday night.

According to a story posted Monday in the Post-Bulletin, Whiskey Bones Roadhouse, located just north of Shopko on County Road 33, apparently closed for good Sunday night, October 4th.

The story says, "They were closing for good last night and having a last call, an employee told me. That employee told me the place may reopen for a night next weekend, and there's talk about finding a new location, but for now, that's what I know."

The Whiskey Bones website is still up and running, but lists its last event as a Texas Hold 'Em Tournament that apparently took place on September 27th. It's generally not a good sign when there aren't any new events listed.

When I was still working in Eau Claire but living here in Rochester, I'd often drive right past Whiskey Bones as I headed north on Highway-63, but, sadly, I never stopped in for a cold beverage. Now it looks like I won't be able to.

Were you a patron of Whiskey Bones Roadhouse?
