The summer of 2016 continues to be a great time to see some great live music, right here in our own backyard -- and that trend continues with the announcement Monday that Sara Evans is coming to southeast Minnesota!

That's right, Sara Evans is set to to play the Vetter Stone Amphitheatre in Mankato on Friday, August 12th. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, June 10 at 10:00 AM.  Tickets are $39.75 and $29.75, general admission. Gates open at 6:30 PM and the show will start at 7:30 PM. Charge by phone at 800-745-3000 or online at Ticketmaster.com.

Sara made her debut in 1997 with her album, 'Three Chords and the Truth.' Since the release of her first album, Sara has released seven more albums. Her breakthrough was in 2000 with 'Born to Fly,' which peaked in the Top Ten of Billboard’s Country charts, going double-platinum in the process.

More hits followed with songs such as, 'Suds in the Bucket,' 'A Little Bit Stronger,' 'I Could Not Ask For More,' and 'Slow Me Down.' Sara has a long list of nominations and awards including Video of the Year for 'Born To Fly' in 2001, and an Academy of Country Music Award for Top Female Vocalist of the year in 2006.
