Have you ever looked through the refrigerator at your place of work? It can be a scary place. Sometimes, things have been in the so long, it's hard to even tell what they ARE-- or were. But I'm guessing even your worst workplace fridge wasn't as bad as this one.

Yes, according to THIS story, the workplace refrigerator at the University of Kentucky Dimock Animal Pathology building was SOOO bad, it sent 11 people to the hospital. Now THAT'S a bad workplace fridge!

The story says workers first noticed a strong odor coming from the fridge when they got to work Wednesday. It went downhill from there.

"They opened the fridge to an overpowering smell. Fire battalion chief Joe Best says people reported minor irritation to the skin or eyes and some nausea. Eleven were taken to the hospital. Firefighters evacuated the building and kept people away as a precaution. University spokeswoman Kathy Jones says officials believe the odor was caused by a chemical residue left by something that had been inside the refrigerator."

Wow. Despite the sometimes strange things that have ended up in our refrigerator here at Quick Country, I can't say we've ever had to call the fire department to investigate! Nor have we, to my knowledge anyway, had anyone hospitalized after opening our fridge!

It just goes to show that no matter how bad things might be in your work refrigerator, it could always be worse!
