It was 9 years ago this week, back in 2006, that I happened to see John Mellencamp at the La Crosse Center. He put on a pretty good show, and so did the (at the time) up and coming country band that opened for him. They even joined him on-stage when he did the song, Pink Houses. So who was it?

That'd be the reigning ACM Vocal Group of the Year, Little Big Town. Back in 2006, they had just released the album 'The Road To Here', and were having some modest success with songs like 'Boondocks' and 'Bring It On Home' (my personal favorite). That spring, they were the opening act on John Mellencamp's tour, which happened to play a stop in La Crosse. While this video was shot in South Bend, Indiana, it was on a date only a few days removed from his show in La Crosse, and the version of 'Pink Houses' here is virtually the same as the one they did in Wisconsin. Check it out...
