If you were watched any of the ACM Awards last night, you know they were held at one of the newest venues in Las Vegas-- the very same arena I visited last summer.

The new T-Mobile Arena, located just off the famed Strip in Las Vegas, just opened last year. In fact, it was almost a year to today's date that the new arena opened out in Sin City, officially opening on April 6, 2016.

The first concert there was actually a week before that, when Martina McBride and Cam played the T-Mobile -- mainly as a test show to make sure all the bugs were worked out. George Strait's run of shows later in April were the first "official" country shows booked there.

My wife and I got a good look at the arena when we saw Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood's 4th of July show there last summer. We had great seats -- on the main floor, in the sixth row -- and we got to see a lot of the arena before the show started. (Our online tickets routed us through a special entrance, with our own beverage vendors and restrooms, which was pretty cool.)

And, our hotel room at the Monte Carlo, located literally right next door, gave us a cool view of the front of the arena too. While watching the show last night, it was tough to tell exactly which arena it was being held in, but it was kind of cool to know we were right there... last year!
