How did you spend you Fourth of July holiday? My wife and I took a road-trip all the way out to Las Vegas to see Garth Brooks, as well as some sights of the desert southwest along the way.

Normally, one flies to Vegas, but we thought it might be fun to check out a couple national parks in the desert southwest, too. So, we hit the highway last Saturday and drove as far as Frisco, Colorado, an hour or so west of Denver.

Then, the next day, we drove through Colorado, Utah, part of Arizona and Nevada before ending up in Vegas. We saw Garth Brooks at the new T-Mobile Arena on the 4th of July, then spent another day eating and drinking our way through Vegas. Okay, we threw a few bucks at the slots, too. And my wife, Katie, hit it big -- winning a whole $40!

We finally headed home and hiked around and took in the gorgeous sights of Bryce Canyon National Park, as well as Dead Horse Point State Park, Cayonlands National Park and Arches National Park, all in Utah. There's some gorgeous country out there -- we especially like our time in Moab. Check out the pictures...
