The Coolest Reason To Head To Rochesterfest Tonight

Today is Opening Day for Rochesterfest 2017, and there's one really cool-- okay, downright cold-- reason to check out the festivities today.

While there were several other events over the weekend that were a part of Rochesterfest, the festival grounds open today (at 11 a.m.) at Soldiers Field Park. In addition to live entertainment, the great food, the beer gardens and more, today is also the PossAbilities Ice Cream Social (from 4:30 to 7 p.m.).

And, at 6 p.m. today, it's the Celebrity Ice Cream Eating Contest. And guess who's taking part this year. That's right, yours truly.

When the good folks at PossAbilities asked me to take part, I couldn't have been more excited. Eat ice cream? No problem, right?!? I love it! It was only after I enthusiastically said yes, that I realized there are some special rule to this contest:

+ Each contestant will be provided a full bowl of ice-cream
+ Contestants will keep both hands behind their back and use only their mouth to eat the ice cream.
+ The first person to finish their bowl of ice-cream and stand up will be the winner
+ No one from the audience can help. 
+If you break the rules, you will be disqualified.

Ah, yes. And I'll be taking on my fellow media members from KTTC, Rochester Magazine, the Post-Bulletin and more. I'm still confident I can win. Come on down at 6 p.m. and cheer me on!
