Outside of the fact that we're both carbon-based forms of life, I don't really have too much in common with pop superstar, Justin Timberlake. Except for this.

Well, seeing as Justin is in the news this morning for something he did down in Tennessee, his home state, I guess we now have TWO things in common: I was just down in the Volunteer State for a few days, too.

But I digress. Justin is catching some flack this morning for having taken a selfie in a voting booth earlier this week. According to THIS Daily Mail story, Justin got into trouble while back in his home state to do his civic duty. The story said, "The pop star may have broken a Tennessee state law while snapping a ballot selfie in an effort to encourage his 37 million followers to vote on Monday."

Now, the story continued on and said that local officials weren't going to investigate anything, so it appears JT's off the hook. And, he apparently snapped the selfie in an attempt to urge the rest of us to vote, too, so he no doubt meant well.

But take a look at this photo from my Facebook page, dated last November, during the Rochester School District referendum vote.

Was this taken at a voting booth here in southeast Minnesota?

That's right! I too, snapped a pic! Although, seeing as I'm not in the picture, mine's not technically a selfie, but I wonder: Did I violate Minnesota state law, like Justin did down in Tennessee? (Just keep this between us, will you?!?)
