18th Ave Reconstruction Project in Rochester is Set to Resume
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The third year of work on a road construction project in northwest Rochester is scheduled to get underway on Monday.
The city’s reconstruction of 18th Avenue Northwest went into overtime last fall due to rainy weather and the delayed work is now scheduled to be completed in July. Most of the work involves the installation of 300 feet of storm sewer, along with the new pavement for that portion of the street and bike path. The remaining work also includes the planting of trees and rain gardens throughout the entire length of the project.
Weather permitting, 18th Avenue will be closed from the 48th Street Roundabout to the entrance to the Rochester Assembly Church south entrance, except on Sundays and Wednesday evenings to allow access to the church. The posted detour will route traffic along West River Parkway NW from 37th Street NW to 55th Street.
