Another popular Rochester Restaurant has closed its doors after almost five years in business. Hog Thai announced the closing on their Facebook page a few weeks ago.

Dear Valued Customers,

The time has come for Hog Thai to announce that after nearly 5 years of serving the local and surrounding communities our business will be permanently closing. Our last day of operation will be Saturday, May 22nd.

We want to express and huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all of our family, friends, and patrons! We would not have made it to where we are today without all of your love, support, and encouragement over the years! Knowing how much Hog Thai will be missed has been the hardest part of this whole process, but is also a great reminder to us of all the lives we’ve touched through the years. We are thankful for the joy that brings us!

We appreciate your understanding and wish you all the best!

I Thought Hog Thai Closed Up In 2020

Back in October of 2020, Hog Thai opened following a seven month Covid-19 related closing.

On March 17th, when the entire state of Minnesota basically shut down because of COVID-19, a favorite eating spot in Rochester sadly announced on their Facebook page that they would be closed until further notice.  After 7 months, this Rochester favorite is finally reopening.

A few weeks ago, I had a story up about all of the businesses that have closed in 2020.  It was a heartbreaking story to write and the list of places is incredibly long.  If you missed it, you can read it here.  After it was published, I had a few people send me a notes to let me know I missed Hog Thai in Rochester.  I personally reached out to Hog Thai and asked if their closure was permanent and at that point, they were working on their future plans but said that they'd keep me in the loop.

I'm happy to share that they are back open.  And based on all of the comments happening on their Facebook page, their customers are thrilled too. Read More: Rochester Restaurant Back Open After Being Closed for 7 Months
