City of Rochester to Consider Modifying Seasonal Cul-de-Sac Rules
Starting October first, the new seasonal parking rules started. "There is no parking in the bulb (circular portion) of any cul-de-sac from October 1 – May 1." That's straight from the city, and that means Rochester cul-de-Sac'ers are upset because they say they're parking in the bulb because they have nowhere else to park.
Rochester citizens have made enough noise that the City Council is going to take up the matter and see if they can find a better way to handle the Cul-de-Sac snow removal issue.
"The ordinance implements alternate side parking requirements for vehicles parked on City streets. It also prohibits parking in the bulb (circular part) of cul-de-sacs at any time from October 1 to May 1. The City Council plans to discuss the possibility of a new solution for cul-de-sac parking at the City Council meeting on October 7, 2019."
The meeting to revisit the Cul-de-Sac plan will be open to the public. Keep track of the council's meetings (and get minutes, etc) HERE.
