He waited until near the end of the 3+ hour show to say it, but Minneapolis seems to have cemented itself as a place for an Eric Church show now, or whenever that he may return in the future. However, next time he may need a stadium to pull it off.

Eric announced that Minneapolis may have set the standard on this 'Holdin My Own Tour' in front of 19,000 at the sold out  Target Center Friday night. His sets were interrupted often with thunderous, show-stopping rounds of cheers & applause that at times roared on and on in between songs. He set the bar pretty high based on the performance he delivered.

Thirty seven songs, over three hours, with a stripped-down feel of intimacy in the 360 degree stage configuration. No pyro, or industrial-looking stage trusses or stanchions like on The Outsider's Tour. Simple and clean walkway's and catwalks with plenty of room to move around and interact with the fans, including 'the pit' which kept 250 fans rockin' smack-dab in the middle of it all. Even seats directly behind the stage had an excellent view and plenty of opportunities to interact with 'Chief'.

To open the show he enlisted the help of a local high school choir to join-in on the opening song, 'Mistress Named Music' from his most recent Mr. Misunderstood release. He seemed to relish the walk down memory lane for he & his band, taking the time near the end of the evening to recall & recount the10 previous trips to Minnesota, which would also include a stop here in Rochester back in July 2006, Down By The Riverside.
