Eyota Area Chase Leads to Arrest of Convicted Bank Robber
Eyota, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man wanted on a federal warrant led an Olmsted County Deputy on a high-speed chase Saturday morning.
Sheriff’s Office Captain Scott Behrns says 61-year-old Gregory Anderson was wanted for a probation violation connected to his conviction on a federal bank robbery charge and fled at speeds approaching 80 miles per hour after a deputy attempted a traffic stop in Eyota. The deputy had seen Anderson pull out in front of another vehicle and then hit a curb.
The pursuit went along Highway 14 to Dover, where Deputy suspended the chase for safety reasons. Behrns the deputy was able to visually track the car for a time and lost sight of it when the man returned to Eyota but then spotted the driver walking on a street.
Anderson is being held in the Olmsted County Jail on a charge of fleeing police and the federal warrant.
