First Of Several Downtown Rochester Detours Begins
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A detour of a busy street in the downtown Mayo Clinic campus zone began Thursday and it will be in place for most of the rest of the year.
Rochester Public Works says the work in the area of the Baldwin Building has forced the closure of 4th Ave SW between 3rd and 4th streets.

Access to the Baldwin Building will be maintained during the closure that is expected to be in effect through Nov. 11. Pedestrian traffic in the area will also be affected.
The work is connected to the ongoing Kellen Building project that is being constructed at the intersection of 3rd Street SW and 4th Avenue SW.
The 11-story building will include subway connections to Mayo’s Opus and Baldwin Buildings, which is why the street had to be closed.
The building is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2023.
