Good Turnout For Rochester’s Memorial Day Event
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Hundreds turned out for Rochester’s observance of the Memorial Day Holiday.
It began with patriotic music from the Plummer Building carillon followed by a parade from the Central Park area to the Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial. That’s where a Memorial Day program was held.
Light rain fell shortly before the parade began but it dissipated in about half an hour and did not affect the scheduled events.
There were dozens of similar events around Minnesota, including the state’s official observance at Fort Snelling.
