
Six Injured, Including Two Children, in Highway 52 Crashes
Chatfield, MN (KROC-AM News) - Six people, including two young children, were injured in two separate crashes this morning along Highway 52 in southeastern Minnesota.
The first crash was reported around 10:15 a.m. in Olmsted County. The State Patrol says snow and ice were present on the roadway when a southbound SUV left the highway and crashed. The incident occurred near the intersection of Highway 52 and County Road 7, approximately four miles north of Chatfield.
Woman and Child Injured
The State Patrol identified the driver of the SUV as 27-year-old Jordan Engel of Chatfield. She and her passenger, 9-year-old Abigail Engel, were transported by ambulance to St. Marys Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Second Crash Just Moments Later
The second crash occurred less than 10 minutes later in Fillmore County. The State Patrol crash report indicates a northbound car collided with a southbound SUV on Highway 52 about three miles north of Fountain. Snow and ice were also reported on the highway at that location.
2 Year Old Hurt
The driver of the SUV, 25-year-old Annika Quanrud of Fountain, and her passenger, 2-year-old Theodore Quanrud of Fountain, both suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to St. Marys Hospital for treatment.
The two occupants of the car also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported by ambulance to Olmsted Medical Center. The driver was identified as 37-year-old Andrea Eger of Spring Grove. The State Patrol identified her passenger as 33-year-old Heidi Eger of Canton.

All of the occupants of the vehicles involved in both crashes were wearing seatbelts, and the State Patrol says alcohol was not involved.
