Jason Aldean Brings ‘We Back’ to ‘Good Morning America’ [Watch]
Jason Aldean brought a shot of energy to Good Morning America with a performance of his single "We Back." The country superstar took the stage in Times Square on Monday morning (Nov. 25) to deliver the country-rock track.
Aldean kept his delivery simple, but the band owned the live performance, the rollicking melody filling the room as he crooned the lyrics "We back, we back, we back in the saddle / Back on stage making the whole place rattle / Back with the A-team, train on the track / Thought we were gone but you're wrong / Now it's on, we back."
The track serves as the lead single off Aldean's new album, 9. It's currently in the Top 15 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
"We Back" stays in tune with Aldean's signature sound that has a heavy rock influence. The singer shares in an interview with Taste of Country and other media that it's the type of sound that comes natural to him.
“It’s what I think sounds cool. If nobody’s doing it, then good, ’cause we are and we always have. It’s always been a huge part of my sound and a big influence for me growing up," he says. "If we went in to make an album and it didn’t have some of that on it, I would just feel like there would be something missing on the record … I just know for me and my guys, that’s what we like to play and that’s the way we like for it to sound and if it didn’t sound like that, it wouldn’t sound like us.”
Aldean's ninth album dropped on Friday (Nov. 22). He's set to hit the road on the We Back Tour in 2020, with opening acts Morgan Wallen, Riley Green and Dee Jay Silver, beginning on Jan. 30 in Columbia, S.C.
