According to the criminal complaint, “The drink Defendant had was in a "Goliath" mug which is 10 inches tall and is made of thick glass. Defendant walked up to Victim and asked him if he wanted to box outside. Defendant then hit Victim in the head with the mug and left the Bar.”

The complaint says a man who was sitting with the victim “was hit in the face by a shard of glass after the mug broke on Victim's face. “

Police say a surveillance video from the bar “Showed Victim and the witnesses sitting around a table. Defendant approached and spoke with the group for a bit before starting to take a video or photos of the group. This appeared to upset the males, but they did not stand up to confront Defendant. Defendant circled around the table and approached Victim, who was sitting. Defendant then thrust his mug into Victim's face in a palm-strike-like fashion, shattering the mug.”

The complaint says the victim received nine stitches for his facial injury. A cut on his forearm also required stitches.

Collett was later arrested at his home in Kasson. According to the complaint, Collett told police he “remembered being at the bar, but had no memory of what happened to his hand” which was wrapped in gauze.

Collett has been ordered to make his first court appearance Feb 24.
