Many Southern Minnesota Students Headed to State Speech Tournament
This weekend is the MSHSL State Speech Tournament! The Tournament is taking place at Wayzata High School Friday the 12th - Saturday the 13th with Class A on the 12th, Class AA on the 13th.
Many of the students competing in the tournament are from Southern Minnesota. Actually, there are a total of 21 students competing and 9 are from Southern Minnesota!
Here's a rundown of the Southern Minnesota students competing this weekend:
Class A:
Hannah Singewald - Cannon Falls - competing in Serious Interpretation of Poetry. She's hoping to win her second championship and third medal overall this year.
Sarah Best - WEM - competing in Original Oratory. She's hoping for her second consecutive title and fourth medal overall.
Moriah Lippert - Maple River - competing in Serious Interpretation of Drama. She's hoping for her third medal overall. She won competing in the Serious Interpretation of Poetry in 2017.
Sarah Dunn - River Valley (co-op between Sleepy Eye, Sleepy Eye St. Mary's, and Springfield) - competing in Humorous Interpretation. She's hoping for her fourth overall medal.
Olivia McNair - Fairmont - She's hoping for her third medal overall
Ryan Schlichting - Cannon Falls - He's hoping for his third medal overall.
Sabdi Bravo - Adrian - She's hoping for her third medal.
Class AA:
Halima Badri - Apple Valley - competing in Original Oratory. She's hoping for her second championship.
Campbell Bernstein - Eastview (Apple Valley) - competing in Humorous Interp. She's hoping for her fourth overall medal.
