The Stay at Home order in Minnesota officially expired on Sunday night, with Monday being the first day many non-essential businesses could open their doors since mid-March. This also means that we will soon be able to go to in-person open houses again. If you're in the market for a home, this might be good news for you!

I know for me it'd be really difficult to decide to buy a house without seeing it in person first. Even a virtual tour just isn't the same in my opinion. So I think this change back to in-person open houses is good.

Minnesota Realtors has set up some guidelines for all real estate agents to follow when it comes to open houses. But, as Bring Me the News writes, they want "real estate agents to create individual guidelines to keep clients and visitors safe on a case-by-case basis."

The guidelines from Minnesota Realtors include avoiding any contact with people who are or have been sick, making a plan for how they will socially distance themselves during the tour, and how they can limit their physical contact with the sellers and potential buyers. They are also encouraging that they "work with the homeowner to disinfect surfaces before and after visitors come in."

Would you feel comfortable going to an in-person open house right now? I think if I was looking at buying a home, I'd go to an open house as long as there was proper social distancing, masks were worn, and things were properly cleaned. Like I said earlier, I think it's important to see a home in person so if proper safety precautions are taken then I'd go to an open house.
