The Best Twin Cities Locations For Family-Friendly Fun in Winter

  • Mall of America-Bloomington

The Mall of America, though usually pretty busy, is great for any family. The massive attraction is home to an indoor amusement park, aquarium, movie theater, arcades, mini-golf, and virtual reality experiences. One of the newest attractions is the Crayola Experience, where kids can create, wrap and name their own crayons. The MOA truly has something for every age group.

Minneapolis Institute of Art/Children's Theatre Co.-Minneapolis

Every month, on a Sunday, the MIA hosts a family day where kids can create and learn about different styles of art. It's truly a great way for children to work the creative sides of their brains.

(The Walker Art Center does a family day as well the first Saturday of every month.)

The Children's Theatre Company, which shares a building with the MIA, brings lively plays to the stage, which entertain all ages. This week is the last week families can see the show "Annie," a fantastic classic.

Minnesota Children's Museum AND Science Museum of Minnesota-St. Paul

Don't let the word museum fool you. Both of these fantastic museums are great fun. Visitors of all ages can learn about numerous topics through multiple hands-on exhibits. The Children's Museum even has a four-story indoor playground called "The Scramble."

These attractions are great options for all families, especially when the weather outside is frightful.

Minnesota’s Breathtaking Frozen Attraction Is 1 of Only 6 In All of North America
