Albert Lea, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man will not have to serve any additional time behind bars for his involvement in a major drug bust last May.

27-year-old Alex Zak was placed on probation for 2 1/2 years and was given a stayed 21-month prison sentence that could be imposed if he fails to stay out of trouble. He previously entered a guilty plea to a third-degree drug charge through a plea agreement in Freeborn County Court.

Zak was with 56-year-old Richard Allen of Albert Lea when their vehicle was stopped by a State Trooper on I-35 near Albert Lea. The criminal complaint states of the trooper noticed both men were "visibly nervous," which led to a search and the seizure of 28 pounds of methamphetamine.

Allen's case was moved to federal court, where it was last reported he was awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty.
