Some Things That Lasted Longer Than The Twins’ 2020 Playoff Run

The Minnesota Twins set a new record today, and it's not a great one to have. The Minnesota Twins have now set the record of consecutive losses in the playoffs for all American professional sports, 18 games in a row. So now that the Twins have been bounced by the Houston Astros, I thought to myself what has lasted longer than the Twins' 2020 postseason run of 7 hours and 21 minutes.

Before we get into what DID last longer than the Twins' 2020 postseason, one thing that didn't last longer was the Back To The Future Trilogy, that clocks in at 5 hours and 22 minutes. GREAT SCOT!

The original Star Wars Trilogy clocks in at 6 hours and 55 minutes, but if you add in the 'first' three movies you get a whopping 13 hours 47 minutes almost twice as long as the 2020 postseason!

The Disney movie series Pirate's of the Caribbean's 5 movies will last an astounding 12 hours and 33 minutes.

The Lord of The Rings Trilogy, not the extended cuts, will run you 9 hours and 17 minutes. MY PRECIOUS!

All 3 Godfather films take ALMOST 9 hours, a runtime of 8 hours, and 59 minutes according to the Wikipedia page. Some Twins' fans might be thinking about that offer right about now.

OK so we know there are some long movie series that is longer than the 2020 Twins postseason, but what about other things? For instance how about driving from Minneapolis to Houston? 17 hours and 48 minutes you'd be on the road, without stopping to pee or sleep.

In approximately 7 hours, a 36-foot combine head moving at 5 miles an hour in a field would harvest 152.6 acres of corn. On average Minnesota has 174 bushels per acre of corn, so you'd harvest in that time 26,552.4 bushels of corn.

Being out in a cornfield is a radio person's favorite thing to do because they are all ears...(Lame I know).

While the Twins may have not lasted long in the playoffs they at least made it in, and won the division so there will at least be a banner being raised next year, but it will probably go up faster than 7 hours and 21 minutes.
