The saying 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away' has been around since 1860 - and apparently it's true.

When I was a kid growing up in Elgin, there was a family that had an orchard, called 'Wescott Orchard'. It's still there to this day. I still remember all of the kids in the family having nice white smiles. Maybe it was the apples?
According to the Daily Mail, research shows that people who have one apple a day are almost 10% less likely to visit the doctor every year.

Apple eaters are also less likely to use prescription medication.

The vitamin C in apples aides the immune system and it can even clean your teeth.

Some studies have shown that it can also slow the effects of Alzheimer's.
