I know it's not me, and I'm guessing probably not you, either, but these six fellow Minnesotans are some of the richest billionaires in the world.

The gang over at Forbes is keeping track of the richest individuals in the world, and they're at it again this year, releasing their 2019 Billionaire List Tuesday. And six fellow residents of the Land of 10,000 Lakes landed on the list again this year.

So who are they?  First, a little background. Forbes found there were 2,153 billionaires in 2019, down 55 from last year. And, get the Kleenex ready, because it's been a tough year for those billionaires!  A record 994, or 46%, are poorer (relatively speaking) than they were last year. How are they possibly getting by?!?

Amazon's Jeff Bezos is again number-1 in the world, followed by Bill Gates at number-2. Here in Minnesota, though, you have to head down the list a while to find our first billionaire. According to BringMeTheNews, former Cargill CEO Whitney MacMillan is the richest this year, coming in 311th overall, with a net worth of $5.6 billion.

The other five Minnesotans making the list include Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor at #804 with $2.8 billion; Bill Austion of Starkey Hearing Technologies at #916 with $2.5 billion; with broadcasting mogul Stanley Hubbard and John and Martha MacMillian, both Cargill heirs, rounding out the list. Must be a nice list to be on!
