Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Record warmth blanketed southeastern Minnesota this afternoon.

The National Weather Service reported the temperatures this afternoon across the region climbed into the low 50s in most areas. The unofficial high temperature at the Rochester Airport was recorded around 2 PM at 52-degrees. That tied the record for the warmest high temperature for Rochester on December 9th that was stood since 1918.

Another unseasonably mild day is forecast for Thursday with high expected in the mid to upper 40s in the Rochester area. A developing storm system is forecast to pull cooler air into the region by the weekend, but it appears the highest risk for accumulating snow will be to the south in an area covering eastern Iowa and southern Wisconsin.
