Over the weekend, some parts of Minnesota hit over 100 degrees with the heat index.  It's during hot days like this that it is SO important that you do not leave your kids or pets in the car, even for short periods.

This story comes to us from Texas where a father (Michael Thedford) is being charged with manslaughter.  Apparently, he dropped 2 of his kids off at day care and returned home.  His 6 month old had a fever the night before and couldn't go to daycare.  When he got home, he forgot to bring the infant inside the house.  He took a 3 hour nap.  When he awoke, he remembered and went out to his car.  He said his girl was "hot as a brick."  He, allegedly, put the child into his refrigerator to cool her down and later tried CPR, unsuccessfully.

Here's the story from Fox 4...
