Last night I went to a showing of Wonder Woman (solid!) at the Wehrenberg Rochester Galaxy 14. It was my first time I’ve seen a flick there, and I wasn’t expecting too much. Most movie theaters are pretty standard, after all. But after seeing the building from the outside and walking through the lobby, my first reaction was, “Oh my god, I would have loved this place if I was a kid.” Going to movies was always an exciting experience, but I just know that I would have been super into the bright colors, tall ceiling, and the tables in the lobby shaped like cars at a drive-thru theater.

But that’s not what I’m here to talk about. Instead, I want to give some recognition to the most amazing intro video I’ve ever seen at a movie theater. I’m not just saying that. I’m legitimately serious. I tried searching for it on YouTube the moment I got back home. Let’s watch it one more time:

That’s just so hilariously cheesy and over-the-top that I find it impossible not to love. It also has a great old school vibe to it. It made me feel like I was back in the ‘90s about to watch a movie. After it was done playing, I turned around to my date and remarked, “…I love every single thing about that.”

My favorite part is when they’re building to the big crescendo where the singers keep passionately belting out “WEHRENBERG!” over and over again. You think it's over when the singers hit that final note, until suddenly there are voices that just start creepily whispering “WEHRENBERG” several times. That made me giggle and want to stand up and start applauding. Five stars.

Anyway, I’m going to movies at this place all the time now. I just had to get that out.
