Is it Surprising That This is Minnesota’s Favorite Christmas Treat?

The folks at offer.com have released the result of a survey taken by American adults via Google Surveys. The question asked was "what is your favorite holiday delicacy?" If wasn't even close with 33% answering pumpkin pie. Next on the list was eggnog at 18% followed by peppermint bark at 16% and then gingerbread at 13% with fruitcake at 11% and candy canes at 9% rounding out the top selections.

Minnesotans went along with almost the entire Midwest and West Coast states in naming pumpkin pie their favorite Christmas treat. The one exception was South Dakota where the votes went for eggnog.

Anyone else surprised? Here in Minnesota, my thoughts would have gone to lefse, krumkake, sun buckles or some other Norwegian delicacy. What about you? What's your favorite Christmas delicacy?
