Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The National Weather Service says people with travel plans in southeastern Minnesota on Thanksgiving day and that evening should keep a close eye on weather forecasts leading up to the holiday.

At this point, forecasters are watching a developing storm system that could dump several inches of slushy snow on portions of the region Thursday afternoon and Thursday night. The most recent forecasting models include Rochester in the areas that could start the day with rain and see it become mixed with snow in the afternoon, and then become all snow with some possibly ice Thursday evening.

Forecasters say motorists should anticipate the possibility of dicey travel conditions by Thursday afternoon.
