New Bar/Restaurant To Open Soon in Rochester

The location might not be new, but a new bar and restaurant is set to open soon in northwest Rochester.

The bar and restaurant scene is one that seems to always be changing (like when THIS local bar closed its doors for good last week), but here's good news: A new bar and restaurant called The Freight Yard is set to open soon in Rochester.

It'll be located in the building along Civic Center Drive that most recently was home to Billoti's (and Billotiz-- with a 'z') and which was once home to Beer Bellyz. The building was originally a Holiday Station Store back in the day.

According to this Post-Bulletin article, the owners of The Freight Yard, Chris Fierst and Steve Lee, already own The Half Barrel, located downtown. And they envision this one to be a more relaxed version of that establishment but with the same quality.

The interior has been totally revamped and remodeled, and the restaurant is set offer traditional bar food, like burgers, pizzas and roasted chicken. The article said they'll also be offering a range of tap beers and craft cocktails, too.

The owners hope to have the new business open "by Christmas," if not sooner. I can't wait to try it!
