Falcon Heights, MN (KROC AM News) – A college student from Byron has been crowned the 66th Princess Kay of the Milky Way.

Receiving the honor at the Minnesota State Fair Wednesday night was 19-year-old Amy Kyllo.

She will spend the next year serving as the goodwill ambassador for the Minnesota dairy industry. She is a student at Association Free Lutheran Bible College and the daughter of Paul and Susan Kyllo.

Her first official duty as the new princess will follow the tradition of her predecessors and sit in a cooler for several hours where she will have her likeness sculpted out of a 90-pound block of butter.

This year’s runnerups were Elizabeth Krienke of Lester Prairie and Brittney Tiede of Le Center were selected as runners up.
