Como Park Zoo Open Again This Weekend in Minnesota

It had been shut down since before Thanksgiving, but the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory in St. Paul is re-opening for its first weekend of 2021 this weekend.
We heard a lot about how bars and restaurants had been shut down for in-person dining for the past two months due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in Minnesota late last fall. But also included in the Governor's executive order that closed bars and restaurants were orders closing other public gathering places, like zoos, museums, movie theaters and bowling alleys.
However, that all changed on Monday when the Governor's latest executive order relaxed some of those restrictions here in Minnesota. And now, the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory in St. Paul (about an hour and 40 minutes north of Rochester, via Highway-52 and I-94) is once again open-- and welcoming visitors this weekend. (Okay, it's actually been open since Monday, January 11th but this is the first WEEKEND it's back open again.)
However, those indoor locations are only allowed to operate at a reduced capacity of 25-percent, which in Como Park Zoo's case, is 150 people. So while you and the kids can trek up to St. Paul and visit the Zoo during it's first open weekend, this weekend, you have to make reservations first (which you can do HERE.)
According to their website, Como Park Zoo and Conservatory is open daily from 10 am to 4 pm, and you must wear masks when visiting the property. And speaking of animals, I'm always amazed at how intuitive they are and the various things they can do. Like predict the weather. Seriously! Keep scrolling to check out some amazing animals who can tell us what kind of weather's headed our way.
