Halloween is Monday, October 31st and we'll no doubt be seeing a lot of ghosts, goblins, ghouls and witches between now and then. But just which witch does Minnesota like the best?

I've gotta say, I'm not all that familiar with witches these days. Outside of the Wicked Witch of the West from the Wizard of Oz, I'm hard-pressed to come up with any other witches at all. Well, maybe Glinda the Good Witch of the South from Wicked.

But, as it turns out, there ARE a lot of other movie witches out there. In fact, the crew over at TakeSpruce ran down a few of them:

"You’ve got your classics, like Hocus Pocus, your remakes, like The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the major franchises like Harry Potter, and more.  We all have our favorite witchy characters… and we were wondering if America did too...so we took a look. Using Google Trends, we found out which witch is the most popular in every state, and in the US overall," the site said.

So just which witch is the favorite here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes?

Well, that would be... the White Witch, in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe from the Chronicles of Narnia, the movie which was released in 2005. In addition to Minnesota, she was also the favorite witch in Colorado, Missouri and North Carolina too.

Over in my home state of Wisconsin, Minerva McGonagall from the Harry Potter series took the top witch spot, while down in Iowa, it was Endora from the TV show, Bewitched, who was the favorite. Nationally, Sabrina, from Sabrina The Teenage Witch was the most-searched-for witch out there. (You can check the full list HERE.)

I'm a  little surprised that the generic 'naughty witch' wasn't on the list. They're usually a staple at any grown-up Halloween party, right? Well, these days, pretty much ANY costume can be made into a naughty version. And speaking of naughty, just how many of these naughty-sounding cities have you heard of here in Minnesota?
